Ben Mitchell


Benjamin grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He went to the University of Arizona and got his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphases in both Transportation & Water Resources. He is currently finishing up his M. S. in Hydrology, also at the U of A. Ben has over 5 years of teaching experience in higher education and more than 2 years in public education, ages K-12. During this time, he had the privilege of teaching many subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Atmospheric Sciences, Ecology, Recycling, Electricity, and Climate Change. These many positions have allowed him to work with students of all ages, backgrounds and in a variety of environments.

 

Ben is also currently taking his Montessori Adolescent Orientation training and is looking forward to the opportunity to gain even more teaching experiences, through the attentive practice and observation of the Montessori approach.

 

When possible, Benjamin capitalizes on any chance to get out of the city and into nature. In his free time, he enjoys creating 2D & 3D art, photography, graphic design, gardening, traveling, birding, biking, hiking and backpacking.
